Every Friday windsoriteDOTca will let you know which beaches are safe for swimming, and those that are not.
Water samples are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
Based on samples taken Wednesday, August 24th, 2016:
Cedar Island Beach is closed.
Swimming is not recommended at Cedar Beach, Colchester Beach, Hillman Marsh Beach, Holiday Beach, Mettawa Beach and West Belle River Beach.
