One short year ago, Mudpuppy Art Gallery opened it’s doors at 264 Dalhousie St. in downtown Amherstburg. Founded by six like-minded artists from in and around Amherstburg, the goal of Mudpuppy is to promote local artists. To do this, they are giving them the space to display their art. Artists can participate in themed art shows, or display their art in the consignment area at the back of the gallery. Since their opening last year, they have helped many up and coming artists break into the art scene.
To celebrate their anniversary, they are hosting an open mic night at the Downtown Espresso Cafe, just across the street from the gallery on Saturday, May 28th, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Admission to the “Mudpuppy Beat Night” is $2, and food and beverages can be purchased at the cafe.
If you would like to participate in the open mic, or would like more information, they ask you to send them an email at [email protected] or give them a call at 519-736-7737.
