IKEA is one step closer to opening in Windsor as the company’s iconic blue-on-yellow signs were erected upon the building, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Windsor’s new IKEA Pick-Up and Order Point was announced last fall and construction has been underway to get the old Walker Road Future Shop store ready for sales of the company’s well know, ready-to-assemble furniture.
The location, slated to open later this spring, will allow customers who have shopped online or at an IKEA store to pick up their products closer to where they live.
The new location will feature a home furnishing inspiration area as well as stations to support customers with their planning process.
IKEA says customers will be able to buy services to support their purchases and sit at a computer station to browse and make online purchases from www.IKEA.ca.
Customers will be able to pay by debit, credit, and gift card, and all purchases at the Windsor location will include a flat $20 delivery fee.
IKEA currently has 12 stores across Canada, in addition to Pick-Up and Order Point locations currently open in St. Catharines, Quebec City, London and Whitby.
