Uwindsor Researcher Appointed To National Ethics Panel

University of Windsor faculty member Pierre Boulos has been appointed to the Panel on Research Ethics for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research ; the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada; and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

The agencies – also known as the Tri-Council – created the Panel on Research Ethics in 2001 to set out basic standards and processes for research ethics policies and practices of institutions receiving Agency funding.

Dr. Boulos has served as Chair of the University of Windsor’s Research Ethics Board and is Secretary of the International History, Philosophy, and Science Teaching group. He is currently working on articles on teaching for critical thinking, teaching and research ethics, and developing ethical standards in teaching from case studies.
