St. Clair College is holding their fall Open House this Saturday.
Future students can talk to program faculty and students as well as tour all the campus buildings at all locations from 10am to 1pm.
As part of the open house, the college will host a special Industry Education Action Taskforce panel discussion. The Taskforce is comprised of business, industry, and education leaders who are working to find solutions to reverse the trend of young people leaving our area to pursue employment opportunities.
“Part of our mandate is to connect with parents and their high school aged students to let them know that they don’t need to leave the community to find employment. There are many jobs out there that remain unfilled. We need to make the connection with students that not everyone is going to find a job in one particular sector,” said Joe Sirianni, Chair of the Taskforce.
In addition to the panel discussion, which takes place from 11am to 12 noon in the Student Centre at the Main Campus, about 14 other employers will be on hand to talk to students as well.
