The Town of Essex is the winner of this year’s National Communities in Bloom Competition for the 9,001 to 20,000 population category.
The town received the top rating of 5-Blooms and special recognition for the Harrow Veterans’ Memorial Park. They competed against Grand-Falls, Newfoundland, and South Huron, Ontario.
“Our local Communities in Bloom Committee has been very successful in the past, earning 5 Blooms at the provincial level for several years in a row and now winning in our population category at the national level,” says Doug Sweet, Director of Community Services.
“We’re very excited to have won top honours and would like to thank our residents and businesses for taking pride in their properties and working together in this unified effort to beautify our community.”
