The Tour di Via Italia cycled through the streets of Windsor, Sunday afternoon, and crowned a familiar winner.
Jeff Schiller returned to win the race he captured previously in 2013, with a first place time this year of 2h 04′ 13″.
Schiller was followed closely by Dan Doddy of the Tower International Cycling Team. Doddy had a time of 2h 04′ 16″.
The third place finisher was multi-time Tour di Via Italia champion Paul Martin who finished with a time of 2h 04′ 16″.
The main race in the Tour di Via Italia was an 90.5km, 75-lap rectangle along Erie Street, Parent Avenue, Giles Boulevard and Howard Avenue which saw an average rider speed of 43.7 km/h.
Now in its 57th year, the Tour di Via Italia takes places every year on the Sunday of Labour Day weekend and has become a staple event for Erie Street.
