The Spitfires now have a 3-2 lead in the series against Saginaw after an enormous comeback Saturday night in Saginaw.
The first period saw Saginaw get a 2-0 lead with goals from Saad and Trocheck on the powerplay. Things were getting a bit gloomy for the Spits. Thankfully in the second period Windsor’s Jake Carrick was able to slide one past Mavric Parks before Saginaw was able to score once more to continue their 2 goal lead. In the remainder of the second period Carrick added his second of the night before Carnevale tied the game 3-3 off a pass from Brown and Ryan Ellis.
With 3:54 left in play Ryan Ellis poked in a rebound from Kassian for the game winning goal and gave the Spits the 4-3 lead. Kenny Ryan added the final nail in the coffin with a goal with an empty net goal.
The Spits are up 3-2 in the best of seven series and will faceoff again tomorrow night at the WFCU Center at 7:05 PM (not the usual Sunday time),
