The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch.
They say the watch has been issued due to existing ground conditions in and current forecasts advising of the potential for 15 mm to 25 mm of precipitation over the next 12 to 24 hour period. ERCA says the potential for flooding exists throughout
the region especially in low lying areas adjacent to and within floodplain areas on all major waterways.
In addition, due to the potential for high intensity isolated thunderstorms, ERCA says there is an enhanced possibility of flooding and drainage problems throughout the entire region, especially in urban areas, in the specific locations affected by these potential downpours.
They say wind gusts of up to 85 kph are also possible with this system.
