Windsor Fire is kicking off its Wake Up Windsor, Get A Working Smoke Alarm home inspection program for its third year.
Under the program firefighters and staff from Windsor Fire and Rescue will be going door to door checking smoke alarms and educating residents.
For the first two years of the program they visited 17,832 houses and 3,775 smoke alarms and batteries were installed.
