Monday afternoon, the St. Clair College Alumni Association donated $5,000 to the children and organizers of the Knobby’s Kids Hockey and Skating Program.
For the past nine years, this program has allowed children in Windsor who cannot afford skates and hockey equipment, an opportunity to learn to skate and play hockey every Saturday morning from 8am to 11am at the Lanspeary Park Outdoor Ice Rink.
Last year was their largest year since the program began and saw over 200 children participate in the weekly free skating and hockey.
This program was founded by Robert “Knobby” Knudsen who passed away in 2011.
