Windsor Police officers rescued a deer that broke into an office on Howard Avenue.
Around 9am this morning, police were called to the 2800 block of Howard after receiving a report that the deer had jumped through a front plate glass window into a doctors office.
Once in the office, the deer ran into a bathroom and office staff acting quickly, shut the bathroom door until police arrived.
The deer was thrashing in the bathroom and knocked items over causing the door to be barricaded.
The Humane Society were also notified and attended the scene.
Officers formulated a plan to rescue the deer and release it back into an adjoining bush area. Police shut down traffic on Howard Avenue as a precaution in case the deer ran into traffic. Inside the office, officers had to force open the bathroom door. The deer exited the bathroom and ran down the hall and out the open rear door. The deer ran into the bush area. The animal did sustain a small laceration near its nose presumably from smashing through the front office window.
