The M/V Egbert Wagenborg was the first “salty” to arrive in Windsor for the 2023 shipping season. The vessel arrived at ADM Agri Industries on April 4th, 2023 to load
grain for export.
Port Windsor Harbour Master Peter Berry and representatives from ADM Agri greeted the master of the vessel, Captain H.E.F.E (Francis) Bos with a Port Windsor
Challenge Coin and other branded gifts. The Challenge Coin presentation is to recognize the significant event of being the first salty in the port and is steeped in navy history.
According to Berry, the arrival of the first salty is significant to the Port and symbolizes the resumption of foreign trade on the Great Lakes which is critical to the Canadian economy.
The Great Lakes -St Lawrence Seaway navigation season opened on March 22nd, 2023.
