True Festival Returns To Amherstburg This Weekend
Amherstburg welcomes back the True Festival this Saturday.
True Festival celebrates Amherstburg’s diversity & inclusivity. Free activities include fire & glow performances, s’more stations, street curling, free hot chocolate, glow photo ops, glow igloos, Drag Queen performances, and more.
“We are thrilled to celebrate diversity & inclusion at this engaging Festival in the heart of spectacular downtown Amherstburg! We are a welcoming and inclusive community, and this is an opportunity to showcase local businesses’ warm hospitality,” said Mayor Michael Prue.
This is the 2nd annual True Festival. The first-year event occurred in 2020, followed by a COVID hiatus.
“Windsor-Essex Pride Fest is proud to be part of Amherstburg’s True Festival. Much like our organization’s events & activities, we want to celebrate diversity & inclusion. By working together, hosting events & initiatives like this, we can strengthen the sense of community and contribute to the vibrancy, health and overall well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in Windsor-Essex,” said David Lenz, Community Development with Windsor-Essex Pride Fest.
The Festival runs from 6:00pm to 10:00pm Saturday, January 28th, in Downtown Amherstburg. For more information, visit visitamherstburg.ca/true.
