Leamington Seeking Citizens For Committees

The Municipality of Leamington is seeking interested citizens to serve on its advisory committees from 2022 to 2026.

Accessibility Advisory Committee

  • Seeking one member who is a professional from the community and three members of the community who are persons with a disability or disabilities.
  • The Accessibility Committee advises Council on matters that will improve opportunities for persons with disabilities and assists in the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to ensure persons with disabilities can fully participate in the community.

Committee of Adjustment

  • Seeking three members.
  • The Committee of Adjustment is responsible for considering applications for consents (land division/severance) and minor variances.

Police Services Board

  • Seeking one member
  • The Police Services Board advises the Detachment Commander with respect to police services in the Municipality and, after consultation with the Detachment Commander, generally determines the objectives and priorities for those services.

Seniors’ Advisory Committee

  • Seeking four members and a maximum of two community stakeholders/representatives from an organization that services seniors in the Municipality such as a retirement/long-term care facility, residential homes or senior apartment complexes.
  • The Seniors’ Advisory Committee’s objectives are to engage and consult with residents about issues affecting seniors; to educate and improve awareness of services available to seniors in Leamington and the surrounding area; to form partnerships in the community; to improve the quality of life for seniors; and to develop and bring forward recommendations to Council on how to make Leamington a more age-friendly community as it relates to matters within the Municipality’s jurisdiction (e.g. transportation, communications and civic participation).
