This weekend, OPP Marine Unit officers on patrol on the Detroit River rescued two people from their overturned personal watercraft.
Officers assisted the two occupants out of the water and got them and the vessel back to shore safely.
Police say the operator of the watercraft did not have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card.
They say that everyone who operates a power-driven boat needs proof of competency — something that shows they understand the basic rules and how to safely operate a boat.
