The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County has launched of The Don and Gail Rodzik Education Endowment, supporting education for staff and volunteers at Hospice.
Thanks to the support of Don and Gail Rodzik, individual team members will receive financial support to pursue additional educational opportunities related to palliative care. In addition, the endowment will fund wider, group education opportunities for the Hospice team, as well as the chance for Hospice to hire a part-time student nurse each year to work at The Hospice, Windsor Residence.
“In order to ensure our team has confidence in their clinical skills, education is essential,” said Nancy Brockenshire, Hospice Executive Director. “This generous donation will ensure that not only are we offering specialized palliative care, but that it is the best our community and our region has to offer. We are forever grateful to Don and Gail for their support.”
The Endowment was officially launched at a celebration at Hospice on Tuesday July 26th, 2022. At the time of launch, multiple RNs, RPNs, and PSWs had registered for courses, with many more to follow.
