An independent jury of film professionals will select all ‘Local’ films presented at the festival. Films will be selected based on quality and originality and their ability to contribute significantly to the overall success of WIFF 2022.
Fiction and documentary feature films of 50 minutes and over and short films under 20 minutes will be considered.
Submissions are open now, and the deadline is August 11th, 2022. Selected participants will be notified by September 30th, 2022.
For more information submission guidelines, visit the submission portal here.
The 2022 festival will run from Thursday, October 27th to Sunday, November 6th, 2022, WIFF’s first-ever 11-day festival.
This year will mark the return of the traditional festival since the beginning of the pandemic. WIFF’s 2019 festival sold over 42,000 tickets and featured the WIFF Prize in Canadian Film, WIFF Village, The Mark Boscariol 48-hour FlickFest, Women of WIFF, a number of special screenings, guests and more, all slated to return this November.
