The Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation’s “Lemonade Brigade” returns this summer after running virtually for the last two years.
On May 28th, W.E. Care for Kids SpokesKids & Board Members will be at the Real Canadian Superstore on Walker Road from 11am to 1pm, running the first lemonade stands of the season and handing out Lemonade Brigade starter kits to any youth who wants to join the Lemonade Brigade this summer.
The Lemonade Brigade encourages youth in Windsor and Essex County to learn about philanthropy by providing free lemonade stand starter kits to any child who wishes to join the Lemonade Brigade. The Lemonade Brigade starter kits include everything needed to start a lemonade stand, including instructions, posters, lemonade cups, paper straws & décor. Children then plan and run their lemonade stands, raising funds in support of local paediatric healthcare throughout the summer. The top three lemonade stands that raise the most at the end of the summer will have a chance to win amazing prizes.
Over the last five years, Lemonade Brigade has raised over $80,000 for local paediatric healthcare programs.
W.E. Care for Kids is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of children in Windsor and Essex County through fundraising initiatives. Since 1997, W.E. Care for Kids has raised more than $8.5 million in support of equipment for paediatric programs and services at local hospitals, as well as the John McGivney Children’s Centre, Ronald McDonald House Windsor, The Learning Disabilities Association of Windsor Essex, Family Respite Services, Windsor Essex Child Youth Advocacy Centre, Connections Early Years Centre and Windsor Essex Therapeutic Riding Association.
