Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update For Friday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 91 new high risk cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Friday. Testing is still limited to high risk individuals only the province estimates actual COVID-19 cases are around 10 times higher than what is being reported.
Total Cases & Active Cases
Total overall cases increased from 38,345 on Thursday, March 10th to 38,434 on Friday, March 11th.
There are 252 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 3 active cases since yesterday).
Vaccinations
Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex).
- 355,810 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+32 since yesterday)
- 342,217 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+118 since yesterday)
- 190,176 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+176 since yesterday)
Vaccination Percentages
- 86.2 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
- 82.9 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
- 53.8 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 18+) have received a 3rd dose/booster (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
