Eleven new fire recruits were welcomed to the Essex Fire and Rescue Services on Monday.

Their journey began on March 1st, 2021. Throughout the process, this dedicated group of individuals have endured and overcome several challenges getting to this point in their career, including the COVID-19 Pandemic and delays in receiving their issued turnout gear. To complete the process, the firefighters will move on to be evaluated by their peers over the next several months and are scheduled to write their provincial examination to become certified firefighters on April 30th.

“We are thrilled to have these talented and dedicated recruits join the Essex Fire and Rescue Services,” said Chief Rick Arnel. “Their hard work and dedication clearly demonstrates their commitment to our community.”
