Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update From The Weekend

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 245 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County from over the weekend. The Health Unit does not report case counts and statistics on weekends but provides a weekend summary. The Health Unit now only reports high-risk cases as testing eligibility is still limited.

Total Cases & Active Cases

Total overall cases increased from on 36,287 on Friday, February 11th to 36,532 on Monday, February 14th.

There are 535 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (decrease of 103 cases since Friday).

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex).

• 354,453 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+281 since Friday)
• 338,473 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+878 since Friday)
• 183,947 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+1,010 since Friday)

Vaccination Percentages

• 85.9 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of 0.1 per cent since Friday)
• 82.0 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of 0.2 per cent since Friday)
• 52.6 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 18+) have received a 3rd dose/booster (increase of 0.3 per cent since Friday)

The Health Unit lists 49 hospitalizations today (decrease of 17), and 8 of those hospitalizations are in the ICU (decrease of 1).
