Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update For Friday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 73 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Friday. The Health Unit now only reports high-risk cases as testing eligibility is still limited.
Total Cases & Active Cases
Total overall cases increased from 37,322 on Thursday, February 24th to 37,398 on Friday, February 25th.
There are 295 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (decrease of 21 cases since yesterday).
Vaccinations
Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex).
- 355,265 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+62 since yesterday)
- 340,552 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+146 since yesterday)
- 187,629 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+283 since yesterday)
Vaccination Percentages
- 86.1 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
- 82.5 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
- 53.3 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 18+) have received a 3rd dose/booster (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
