Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update For Friday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 78 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Friday. The Health Unit only reports high-risk cases as testing eligibility is still limited.
Total Cases & Active Cases
Total overall cases increased from 36,799 on Thursday, February 17th to 36,879 on Friday, February 18th.
There are 280 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (decrease of 201 cases since yesterday).
Vaccinations
Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex).
- 354,871 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+74 since yesterday)
- 339,322 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+157 since yesterday)
- 185,056 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+180 since yesterday)
Vaccination Percentages
- 86.0 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
- 82.2 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
- 52.9 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 18+) have received a 3rd dose/booster (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
