The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 140 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Tuesday.

NOTE: The Health Unit stresses that due to the recent surge in Omicron cases and changes in eligibility for testing, testing capacity is limited and case, contact, and outbreak management has been modified to focus on high-risk settings. As a result, they say case counts are an underestimate of the true number of individuals with COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex.

New & Total Cases

The Health Unit says 3 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 16 cases are community acquired, 3 cases are travel related, and the acquisition sources of 118 cases are still under investigation.

Total overall cases increased from 29,380 on Monday January 10th to 29,520 on Tuesday January 11th.

There are 3,323 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (decrease of 33 cases since yesterday).
