Hello time traveller!!

The information listed below is likely outdated and has been preserved for archival purposes.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 558 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Thursday.

NOTE: The Health Unit stresses that due to the recent surge in Omicron cases and changes in eligibility for testing, testing capacity is limited and case, contact, and outbreak management has been modified to focus on high-risk settings. As a result, they say case counts are an underestimate of the true number of individuals with COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex.

New & Total Cases

The Health Unit says 52 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 48 cases are community acquired, 2 cases are outbreak related, 3 cases are travel related, and the acquisition sources of 453 cases are still under investigation.

Total overall cases increased from 27,175 on Wednesday January 5th to 27,733 on Thursday January 6th.

There are 2,526 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 118 cases since yesterday).
