COVID-19 Outbreak Declared At Windsor Regional’s Ouellette Campus

Windsor Regional Hospital is reporting a COVID-19 at their Ouellette Campus.

The hospital says the outbreak is declared in the “4 Medical” unit of the building.

To date, less than five patients have been affected, and the hospital says all of those affected are asymptomatic.

Officials say the first positive case was identified following routine screening and the patients were all residing in the same ward room.

The hospital says admissions to the unit will continue however no visitors will be allowed in outbreak areas.

Officials say precautions remain in place across both campuses and on all units to identify potential outbreaks early and all patients are tested for COVID-19 on admission into hospital and again following admission to hospital, whether they are symptomatic or not.
