Looking for a fun experience to do with your family this summer? Why not grab a car load and join the Windsor International Film Festival for a ‘drive-in style’ WIFF Under The Stars community event at Festival Plaza in downtown Windsor!
There is so much to see and do while you are in downtown Windsor that we put together this great little guide to make your afternoon or night out one to remember! Their incredible LED screen gives you and your loved ones the opportunity to see your favourite flicks even during the day! And the best part? You can bring your own snacks!
The Main Event
Grab your tickets now for the drive in and feature film performances August 20th through September 11th. Every night there is a double feature on the big screen – plus exclusive family friendly matinees on the weekend.

Eat
There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and unique spots in the downtown core for you to grab a bite to eat before or after the show. Pick it up takeout style and have a picnic tailgate party with a cookie charcuterie board! Held every Saturday morning along Pelissier St., the Farmers’ Market is a great place to spot and try all things local! Peruse the vendors and pick up some unique eats and treats for during the movie or to take home.

Drink
Quench your thirst with one of the many great spots to grab a beverage in the downtown core. From coffee to cocktails, you are certain to find whatever you are thirsty for! With an extended patio creating additional outdoor space among the street art of Maiden Lane, you will have your choice of seats both inside and out! Grab a java to go and make sure you can stay awake through the evening double feature of films!!
Play
Catch all the action happening in the streets during the Open Street events hosted by the DWBIA! From local musicians, entertainment, shopping and more there is much to be discovered downtown! Immerse yourself in the arts by strolling along the riverfront trail and take in the view of the Detroit skyline as well as the numerous displays of outdoor art.
Stay
Those double features go late so why not make a night of it!? Rest your head at one of the beautiful waterfront hotels and wake up to a great view! Stay in style in one of the state-of-the-art rooms in the Augustus Tower and be just steps from all the downtown fun and fare!
