The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is urging all local attendees of the 43rd Annual Jane and Finch Classic basketball tournament, held at the Playground Global Facility in Oshawa, from August 3rd to 8th, to get tested as soon as possible for COVID-19.

According to Durham Region health officials, there were potentially 7,000 people who attended this event over the five days.

They say that as a result of the upwards of 20 positive cases of COVID-19 currently identified, an outbreak has been declared for this event. Cases from Quebec, Peel, Toronto, and Durham have been identified.

If you attended this event, you are urged to get tested immediately.
