The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 91 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Thursday.

Thursday’s increase is the largest single-day increase in local cases since April 15th’s 93 new cases.

The Health Unit says 13 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 14 cases are community acquired, 3 cases are travel related, 2 cases are outbreak related, and the acquisition sources of 59 cases are still under investigation.

They say 446 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 38).

The Health Unit says 2,708 preliminary or confirmed variant of concern cases have been identified to date (increase of 160).
