Tourism Windsor Essex Launches Staycation Guide

Tourism Windsor Essex has launched their annual visitor guide, rebranded as a staycation guide.

The organization says the guide was launched in preparation for businesses planning to reopen under Step 1 of the province’s Roadmap to Reopen plan.

“Though we know doors aren’t open yet, the tourism industry is preparing to open, and our Official Visitor Guide is one of the top advertising pieces we use to promote our region,” says Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex. “We have adapted our guide to be a Staycation guide, and to be the ultimate resources for locals to use to explore their own backyard this summer.”

Orr says the tourism industry was hit first and hit the hardest and that it will take the longest to recover.

“We hope locals will use this guide as an asset to explore when it is safe to do so,” he said.

The guide will be distributed locally in a print format at partner businesses and attractions, or available through mail by requesting a copy at www.visitwindsoressex.com. You can also view a digital edition of the guide by clicking here.

TWEPI says the guide will also be used as a lure piece to attract visitors through both a targeted direct mail piece as well as a digital marketing campaign across Southern Ontario, to keep Windsor Essex top of mind when they plan travel in the future.
