Sandpoint Beach will be opening earlier than expected.
Lifeguard supervision will begin on Tuesday, June 29th, 2021, rather than July 5th, as originally planned.
City staff have worked hard to groom the beach and install the accessible beach matting and supervised swimming area lines, making the early opening possible.
Sandpoint Beach will be open daily with lifeguards on duty from 1pm to 7pm, weather and water quality permitting, until Sunday, September 5th, 2021.
The six outdoor swimming pools are still scheduled to open for the season on Monday, July 5th, 2021, but advance reservations for outdoor fit lanes, aqua fit and recreational swimming are now being accepted.
All pool programming will be by appointment only, and spots can be booked online at ActiveWindsor.ca beginning today.
