Windsor Regional Hospital has accepted two COVID-19 positive patients from Manitoba. Both of these patients are on ventilators in the hospital’s Intensive Care Units.

“We are one of a handful of Ontario hospitals with ICU capabilities being asked to support our fellow Canadians during Wave 3. In addition to the two patients from Manitoba, over the past two months, we have been able to accept 87 COVID-19 positive patients, with only nine of them remaining with WRH as in-patients,” said WRH President and CEO David Musyj.

According to Shared Health Manitoba, 120 patients were in Manitoba ICUs. On Saturday, three COVID patients from Manitoba were transported to Ontario as part of ongoing efforts to maintain capacity.

Since May 18th, ten patients from Manitoba have been sent to hospitals in Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Ottawa, and North Bay and Windsor.
