The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has expanded COVID-19 vaccination booking to those 18 years of age or older living in “hot spot” postal code areas.
Previously the Health Unit’s mass vaccination clinics were only available to those aged 40 and older in hot spot areas, and are available to those aged 50 and older in non-hot spot postal code areas.
The Health Unit’s booking website was updated Monday morning to accept booking from those meeting the new criteria. It comes after the province announced Sunday that booking would be available due to an increase in provincial vaccine supply.
To book an appointment you must be 18 years of age or old, or turning 18 in 2021, and living in one of the hot spot postal code areas:
- N8X
- N8Y
- N9A
- N9B
- N9C
- N8H
- N9Y
The mass vaccination clinics distribute either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. Currently the Health Unit says only the Windsor Hall (former Windsor Star building), Moy Medical Centre, and Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre locations are available for booking in this priority group.
