25 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Sunday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 25 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Sunday, bringing the local total to 13,405.

Today’s New Cases

Cases increased from 13,380 on Saturday March 13th to 13,405 on Sunday March 14th and 313 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 6 cases are outbreak related, 6 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 2 cases are community acquired, and 11 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today:

  • 18,944 people have received only their first dose of the vaccine (+2,354 since yesterday)
  • 11,848 people have received both doses of the vaccine (full series) (+5 since yesterday)
  • A total of 42,640 doses have been administered to Windsor-Essex County residents (+2,364 since yesterday)

Resolved Cases

The Health Unit lists 12,695 total resolved cases.

That’s an increase of 22 resolved cases today.

Deaths

There have been no additional deaths from COVID-19 today and the local death toll stands at 397.

Hospitalizations

The Health Unit lists 31 hospitalizations today: 25 people in acute care, and 6 people in the ICU with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
