32 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Sunday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 32 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Sunday, bringing the local total to 12,562.

Today’s New Cases

Cases increased from 12,530 on Saturday February 13th to 12,562 on Sunday February 14th and 305 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 2 cases are outbreak-related, 9 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 3 cases are community acquired, and 18 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.

Resolved Cases

The Health Unit lists 11,902 total resolved cases.

That’s an increase of 15 resolved cases today.

Deaths

There have been no additional deaths from COVID-19 today and the local death toll stands at 355.

Hospitalizations

The Health Unit lists 33 hospitalizations today: 22 people in acute care, and 11 people in the ICU with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.

Vaccinations

At the last vaccination update from the Health Unit on Friday February 12th, Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Medical Officer of Health for Windsor Essex said:

  • 19,334 total COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered locally
  • 7,398 people locally have received both their first and second doses
  • 4,538 people locally residents have received their first dose
