3 New Deaths, 26 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Wednesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 26 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Wednesday, bringing the local total to 12,419.
Today’s New Cases
Cases increased from 12,393 on Tuesday February 9th to 12,419 on Wednesday February 10th and 297 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.
The Health Unit says 6 cases are outbreak-related, 8 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 2 cases are community acquired, and 10 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.
Resolved Cases
The Health Unit lists 11,774 total resolved cases.
That’s an increase of 40 resolved cases today.
Deaths
The Health Unit announced three additional deaths from COVID-19 today bringing the local death toll to 348.
They say:
- Two deaths are from long-term care homes
- A woman in her 60s who worked in a long-term care home
- A woman in her 80s who was a resident in a long-term care home
- One death is from the community
- A man in his 80s
Hospitalizations
The Health Unit lists 45 hospitalizations today: 34 people in acute care (7 less today), and 11 people in the ICU (1 less today) with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
