Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Staff Assisting At The Village At St. Clair

Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare staff are now onsite at  The Village at St. Clair assisting with the COVID-19 outbreak.

Since the early days of the pandemic hospitals across the Province of Ontario have been engaged with Long Term Care Homes to provide assistance and redeploy staff on an as-needed basis. Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare is partnered with 13 homes including The Village at St. Clair.

As of Monday, December 20th, 2020, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare deployed eight individuals to support the staff at The Village at St. Clair in their efforts to contain the spread of the virus and assist in returning the home to normal operations.

The Incident Management Response Team at HDGH continues to work with the team at Schlegel Villages to identify any further needs.

“It is very clear that the team and leadership at St. Clair and Schlegel Villages are committed to deploying all resources necessary to support the residents at the Village,” said Janice Kaffer, President and CEO at HDGH. “Managing this disease is not something that can be done overnight and Health Human Resources are limited. We are committed to doing all we can to assist our partners.”

As of Tuesday, the home had 97 cases in residents and 50 in staff.
