23 New Cases Of COVID-19, 1 New LTC Outbreak In Windsor Essex As Of Sunday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has announced 23 new cases of COVID-19 as of Sunday, bringing the local total to 2,923. They say 2,754 people locally have recovered.

Cases increased from 2,900 on Saturday November 7th to 2,923 on Sunday November 8th and 93 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.

The Health Unit says 2 cases are community acquired, 1 case is a close contact of a confirmed case, 1 case is a local healthcare worker, and 19 cases are still being investigated.

There have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Sunday and the local death toll stands at 76.

As of Sunday, the Health Unit lists 3 people as hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex, and 1 person in the ICU. Three hospitalizations are listed at Windsor Regional Hospital.

Long-term Care / Retirement Home Outbreaks

As of Sunday there are four outbreaks:

  • Berkshire Care Center (Windsor) is now under outbreak as of Sunday with 2 staff cases
  • Riverside Place (Windsor) has 2 staff cases
  • Lifetimes on Riverside (Windsor) has 4 resident cases and 4 staff cases
  • Iller Lodge (Essex) has 4 resident cases and 1 staff case
