A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the area.
Environment Canada says that conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and heavy rain.
Severe thundestorms with wind gusts up to 90 kilometers per hour may track from west to east across the regions late this evening or early overnight.
