Officials announced Thursday afternoon that the tribute will now start at 6:15pm and the route has changed.
The Canadian Historical Aircraft Association, in partnership with the Windsor Flying Club and Journey Air, will be performing an Inspiration Flight & Tribute flyover across Windsor Essex Thursday evening.
The flight will honour front-line and essential workers, acknowledging their hard work, dedication and perseverance as well as Windsor Essex citizens who have had to make sacrifices to help protect one another.
The flyover also commemorates the life of Captain Jenn Casey, a member of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds who lost her life during their recent Operation Inspiration cross-country tour.
A dozen pilots have volunteered their time and various models of aircraft to fly “in trail” (a single file, similar to a car parade).
It starts at Windsor International Airport and will cover Amherstburg, Kingsville, Leamington, Essex and Lakeshore lasting until 7:45pm.
