No Harrow Fair This Year

The 166th Harrow Fair has been cancelled this year due to COVID-19.

“We will be forever grateful for the sacrifices made by the many front line workers during these times and are unwilling to put those sacrifices at risk by believing current restrictions will be lessened sufficiently within the next 100 days to hold the 166th presentation of the Harrow Fair in September 2020 as originally planned. It seems unreasonable to ask judges to taste and/or touch hundreds of entries so soon after this experience. It would be irresponsible to ask our volunteers to attend the gates, collect garbage and coordinate activities in such an uncertain time,” said a statement from Ed Gibbs, President.

The statement goes onto say that “plexiglass barriers, masks and arrows directing the flow of the crowd are just not conducive to a fair atmosphere.”

Planning for the fair to take place in 2021 are already underway.
