The Town of LaSalle’s Culture and Recreation Department is offering virtual fitness programs to help the community stay connected and healthy while at home.

“We are introducing free programs to both connect with our community and to offer a way to keep active while staying at home. Employees from the Vollmer Complex will lead participants through the exercises. Current fitness members are being contacted to take part, and members of the community are welcome to join as well,” said Patti Funaro, Recreation Manager.

Telephone Sit and Be Fit is a guided chair fitness program for older adults. Participants do not need to have a computer or the internet, they can take part by calling a phone number provided at the time of registration. The program starts on May 25th, and will take place Monday and Wednesday from 10:15am to 10:45am.

Zoom Cardio Strength is an adult workout class that requires no special fitness equipment. Participants will require a Zoom account to participate, and login details will be provided at the time of registration. The program starts on May 25th, and will take place Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am to 11:15am.

These virtual fitness programs are free. Additional virtual programs will be announced in the near future. Participants can register by calling the Vollmer Complex at 519-969-7771, ext. 4116 or online at www.lasalle.ca/register.
