10 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex As Of Monday Afternoon

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has confirmed 10 additional cases of COVID-19 as of Monday afternoon, bringing the local total to 783. They said 451 people locally have recovered.

Cases increased from 773 on Sunday May 17th to 783 on Monday May 18th.

The Health Unit says there have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Monday and the local death toll stands at 63.

The Health Unit says there are ongoing outbreaks at 17 long-term care and retirement homes:

  • Chartwell Kingsville Retirement Residence
  • Berkshire Care Centre
  • Village at St. Clair
  • Extendicare Southwood Lakes
  • Extendicare Tecumseh (St. Alphonse)
  • Franklin Gardens
  • Sun Parlour
  • Lifetimes on Riverside
  • AMICA
  • Country Village Homes
  • Heron Terrace LTC
  • Riverside Place
  • Chartwell Oak Park Terrace Retirement Residence
  • Leamington Mennonite Home
  • Dolce Vita Retirement Living
  • Regency Park Nursing Home
  • Banwell Gardens Care Centre.

The Health Unit’s data shows a total of 190 residents and 99 staff of local long-term care and retirement homes under outbreak have COVID-19 as of Monday, with no increases in cases as of Monday.

As of Monday afternoon, 14,077 tests have been conducted and 955 tests are pending.
