City Prepares For Possible Work Stoppage In Catholic School System

With a one day strike at the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board expected on Tuesday, January 21st,the City of Windsor is making plans.

They city says that the EarlyON Child and Family Centre’s located within the WECDSB system will be closed.   Those centers are Holy Name Catholic Elementary School (Essex), H.J. Lassaline Catholic Elementary School (Windsor), Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Catholic Elementary School (Windsor), Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School (LaSalle) and St. Pius Catholic Elementary School (Tecumseh).

In preparation for this potential action, the city is also now taking registrations for day camp programs on January 21st, 2020 for ages 4 and up.

They will take place at both the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex and the Optimist Community Centre.

Children can be dropped off for this program as early as 7:30am and picked up as late as 5:30pm. Parents wishing to secure a spot for their child can register at any time at any of our community centres. All locations offering this program will be open at 7:30am on January 21st, 2020 and prepared to take registrations. In the event that schools are open, a full refund will be issued.
