Pup-sonality:
Joey aka The Flash is a little speed-demon racing for your heart. She loves everyone she meets and is a super easy-going little girl. She is not a fan of being in a crate, but could potentially be worked with for a family experienced in crate-training through positive reinforcement. Joey is still working on her house-training and will need a patient family willing to work with her. She is unknown about cats but has gotten along with all dogs she’s met so far with her foster family. Joey will need another dog in her forever home to make her feel secure and confident. She wants to be with her people all the time and is not a barker. She will dance in circles for treats and is willing to learn other basic commands. Since she is still puppy-aged, Joey likes to chew and can sometimes steal a slipper or sock. She will need lots of chew-safe toys to keep her busy. Joey loves to sleep under the covers with her foster family and stays put throughout the night. She is good on a leash and loves her daily walks. Joey is just a super happy girl ready to play or equally ready to snuggle up and relax at the end of the day.

Medical Note: Joey has Bilateral Luxating Patellas (5/6) in both rear legs. At this time, the vet has not recommended surgery to correct this issue because she seems perfectly healthy and happy and she shows no evidence that her legs are bothering her. This does not mean that she will not require surgery in the future and her adoptive family will need to be prepared to provide this if a vet recommends surgery at a future date.

All dogs available for adoption with Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex come fully vaccinated, including lepto, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (and are on heartworm/flea preventative while in our care). At adoption, adopters receive a 6-week free trial of pet insurance.
