The annual fill the bus day for the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation back to school back pack and supply drive takes place on Saturday, August 17th.
This is a partnership between the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation and Staples Business Depot at 4511 Walker Road in Windsor.
The community is invited to stop by the store from 11am to 3pm for a barbeque, activities for children and purchase school supplies from Staples to fill the school bus.
Monetary donations are welcomed as well.
The back to school back pack program supports over 900 children and youth who receive services from the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society. The goal is that each young person will return to school with a new back pack filled with school supplies. This builds confidence and increases self-esteem in these children and youth as they return to the classroom
This will be the 9th year that Staples Business Depot, Walker Road has come on board for this campaign.
Other major sponsors of the Back to School Back Pack Program are Enbridge, Union Gas, Highline Mushrooms, the Plasman Group and the Rotary Club of Windsor 1918. The in-store campaign at Staples provides customers with the opportunity to purchase school supplies or make a financial donation towards the purchase of supplies and back packs.
