Open House To Help Shape Future Of Colchester Centre

An open house is planned for Saturday, July 27th to discuss and provide feedback on the future of  the Colchester Centre area.

The event, which will run from 11am to 2pm in the Colchester Community Centre, will provide community members an opportunity to weigh in on potential changes to the Colchester Secondary Plan and local zoning bylaw.

Residents, visitors, and any other interested individuals are encouraged to provide input into the Secondary Plan, which is a community development plan designed specifically for Colchester Centre. Town Planners will be on hand to hear your ideas and collaborate with you on future growth opportunities, tourism and recreation initiatives, and design guidelines for the Colchester area.

“As one of the Town’s urban centres, Colchester has a deep-rooted history, lakefront attributes, and an expanding regional presence that we can build on,” said Lori Chadwick, Director of Development Services. “Council has identified their desire for Colchester to grow and develop in terms of retail establishments and community amenities, and this event is the first step in developing the framework and vision for that process.”
