Environment Canada warns that a prolonged heat event will begin on Monday, July 1st.

A hot and humid airmass is forecast to return to the Windsor and Chatham with maximum daytime temperatures of 31°C or 89°F are possible with overnight minimum temperatures likely remaining near 21°C  or 70°F providing little relief from the heat.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible each day, which could prevent maximum daytime highs. However, maximum humidex values are still expected to be near 40°C or 104°F.

The hot and humid conditions are expected to remain in the area until the weekend as a cold front is expected to move through on Saturday and bring cooler conditions to the area.
