Bike Windsor Essex hosted the 11th annual Ride of Silence, commencing from their Bike Kitchen location.
The ride traveled slowly and silently behind a hearse with a second hearse bringing up the rear showing respect to people injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.
The presence of the hearses underscores the dire consequences that can occur when motorists are inattentive, when they don’t follow the rules of the road, when they don’t give cyclists at least 1 metre of space.
Cyclists around the world took part in this procession at the same time.
